  • Effortless Preparation: With just a few simple steps, you can have these wraps ready in under 30 minutes, making them perfect for busy weeknights or quick meal prep.
  • Healthy & Wholesome: Loaded with fresh vegetables from the broccoli slaw and lean protein from the chicken, they provide a balanced meal that will keep you full and energized.
  • Incredibly Flavorful: The homemade honey sesame dressing is the star, bringing a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy notes that elevate every bite.
  • Customizable: Easily adapt the ingredients to suit your taste preferences or what you have on hand. Don’t have broccoli slaw? Use cabbage. No crispy chicken? Rotisserie works wonders!

Key Ingredients for Your Honey Sesame Chicken Wraps

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card with exact measurements.

  • Honey: This provides a natural sweetness that beautifully complements the savory and tangy elements of the dressing. Use a good quality honey for the best flavor.
  • Mayo: Creates a creamy base for the dressing, adding richness and helping all the flavors emulsify together. You can opt for light mayo if you prefer.
  • Dijon Mustard: A touch of Dijon adds a subtle tang and depth, cutting through the sweetness and richness for a well-rounded flavor profile.
  • Rice Wine Vinegar: Essential for that authentic Asian-inspired zing. It provides a mild acidity that brightens the entire dressing without being overpowering.
  • Sesame Oil: This ingredient is crucial for the “sesame” in honey sesame! A little goes a long way to infuse the dressing with its distinctive nutty, aromatic flavor.
  • Chicken: For ultimate convenience, I often use pre-cooked frozen crispy chicken tenders (which just need heating). However, the beauty of this recipe is its versatility. Feel free to use shredded rotisserie chicken, leftover grilled chicken breasts, baked chicken, or even chicken nuggets for a kid-friendly twist. Any cooked chicken will work!
  • Wraps: Your favorite large tortillas are perfect. Standard flour tortillas, whole wheat tortillas for added fiber, or even low-carb, high-fiber varieties all work great. For a gluten-free or low-carb option, consider large lettuce cups (like butter lettuce or romaine hearts) for a lighter, crunchier experience.
  • Broccoli Slaw: I particularly love broccoli slaw for its sturdy texture, which holds up wonderfully in the wrap without getting soggy. It also adds a fantastic crunch and nutritional boost. If broccoli slaw isn’t available or to your taste, a mix of shredded cabbage and carrots, or even finely chopped regular broccoli florets, would be excellent substitutes.
  • Sliced Almonds: These add a delightful crunch and a subtle nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with the sesame. Toasted almonds can enhance this even further.

One of my favorite aspects of this recipe is the ability to prepare the dressing ahead of time. This simple step transforms the wraps into an ultra-fast meal prep option, allowing you to whip up fresh wraps for lunch all week long with minimal effort. Plus, as mentioned, you have complete freedom with your choice of chicken – from quick-heat frozen tenders to savory leftover roast chicken, or even tender grilled chicken, the options are endless!

How to Make These Delightful Honey Sesame Chicken Wraps

Creating these flavorful wraps is incredibly straightforward, perfect for a quick meal or for prepping in advance:

  1. Prepare the Dressing: In a medium bowl, combine all the dressing ingredients: honey, mayo, Dijon mustard, rice wine vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk everything together until the mixture is completely smooth and well-blended. This can be made several days ahead and stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
  2. Cook the Chicken: If using frozen crispy chicken tenders, cook them according to the package directions until golden and heated through. For other chicken types (rotisserie, grilled, leftover), ensure it’s warmed or at room temperature and shredded or sliced into bite-sized pieces. Allow the cooked chicken to cool slightly for easier handling and to prevent sogginess in the wraps.
  3. Assemble the Wraps: This step is where the magic happens! Depending on whether you’re making a full batch or just a single wrap, take a generous portion of broccoli slaw (approximately 1/2 cup per wrap) and toss it with enough of the prepared honey sesame dressing until it’s evenly coated. Lay out your favorite tortilla, spoon the dressed slaw into the center, then layer with your preferred chicken and a sprinkle of sliced almonds. Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a neat, portable wrap.

Meal Prep Tip: You can store any extra dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For meal prepping the wraps, keep the dressed slaw, cooked chicken, and tortillas separate. Assemble just before eating to ensure the freshest taste and texture, preventing the tortillas from becoming soggy.

Customization and Serving Suggestions

These Honey Sesame Chicken Wraps are fantastic on their own, but their versatility means you can easily customize them to your liking. Here are some ideas:

  • Add More Veggies: Enhance the nutritional value and crunch with extra shredded carrots, thinly sliced bell peppers, cucumber sticks, or edamame.
  • Spice it Up: For a kick, add a dash of sriracha or red pepper flakes to your dressing, or drizzle some hot sauce inside the wrap.
  • Different Nuts: Instead of almonds, try chopped peanuts, cashews, or even sunflower seeds for a different texture and flavor profile.
  • Herbaceous Twist: Fresh cilantro or green onions, finely chopped, can add a burst of freshness.
  • Make it a Bowl: If you’re looking for a low-carb or gluten-free option, serve the honey sesame chicken salad over a bed of mixed greens or rice instead of a tortilla.
  • Pairing: These wraps are a complete meal, but they can be served alongside a simple fruit salad, a cup of miso soup, or extra crisp veggie sticks.
